Whether you are an experienced yoga teacher or just curious about teaching, Hydra Yoga has trainings that will equip you with the tools you need to support students with therapeutic yoga.

Hydra Yoga Spa’s curriculum is based both on in Eastern medicine and Western Fascial and Trigger Point Therapy. We learn common injuries and their appropriate modifications. We also include yoga fundamentals such as ancient Ayurveda, chakras, bandhas, Buddhism and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. We specialize in trainings which augment 200-hour teacher trainings and one-on-one internships through the Work Study program. Intro to Therapeutics Certification

Ready to immerse yourself in the world of therapeutic yoga and become part of the vibrant Hydra Yoga family? We’re not just a studio; we’re a haven of healing, where every detail—from the calming scents to the perfectly folded towels—contributes to our clients’ well-being.

Teachers, do you want to connect with more students, learn to modify for students’ injuries, and teach in a fun and supportive setting? If you are an experienced yoga teacher with a passion for providing a therapeutic, spa-like experience for students, then teaching at Hydra yoga might be for you…

This three-hour training session held at the studio covers the foundational principles of working as a therapist.

Curriculum:

  • Understanding the ethical role of a therapist
  • Techniques for holding therapeutic space
  • Client intake procedures
  • Integrating massage into meditation practices
  • Overview of basic Western anatomy and Eastern shamanism as they apply to Yin Yoga principles

Dates and Location:

  • This training is held at our studio in the Rosegarden.
  • Intro to Therapeutics are held every other month on Friday evenings. 

Qualifications & Enrollment:

Anyone is welcome to apply. It is recommended that applicants take at least three classes at the studio prior to applying.

Tuition & Accreditation:

Tuition is covered for free upon the purchase and completion of 10 classes at the studio.

  • Hydra Yoga is accredited by the Yoga Alliance for continuing education, but due to its therapeutic nature, this specific program is not Yoga Alliance affiliated.
  • This program qualifies you to perform Work Study at the studio. As an intern, you can take free classes, practice hands-on adjustments and massage, deepen your practice, learn behind-the-scenes business practices, and perfect your ability to hold therapeutic space.
  • Your participation in the Work Study program earn more points towards free tuition and workshops.

Yin Yoga for the Absolute Beginner: 15hr Teacher Training

Our weekend-long intensive, YY4AB, offers a comprehensive gateway to our unique hands-on healing approach, teaching you how to apply Yin Yoga therapeutically to help clients unlock energy and find relief from pain. To support your learning, the course includes an 80-page handbook featuring visual charts for complex concepts, alongside access to online videos for reviewing posture segments, adjustments, and anatomy at your own pace.

The learning doesn’t stop there! Our ongoing Work Study program allows you to practice these transformative techniques alongside our Master Instructors in real classes. It’s hands-on experience that will truly deepen your understanding and skill.

This weekend-long course runs Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning.

  • Principles of Yin Yoga therapy
  • Body mechanics
  • Yin Yoga energy lines (meridians)
  • Review and recitation of the Yin Yoga sequence
  • Outline Traditional Chinese Medicine and Buddhist Shamanism as they apply to Yin Yoga principles

Qualifications & Accreditation:

While Hydra Yoga is Yoga Alliance accredited for continuing education, this program is not Yoga Alliance accredited due to its therapeutic focus.

  • If you are not already 200-hour certified: Completion of this program allows you to teach as a substitute teacher at Hydra Yoga Therapy.
  • If you are already certified: You are welcome to audition to become a teacher at the studio.

Hydra Hot Yoga Teacher and Meditative Vinyasa 200hr Certification Program

This immersive 200-hour program, held over nine weekends, transitions students from absolute beginners to elite instructors skilled in both Hot Yoga (26 & 2) and Power Vinyasa. Our methodology bridges the gap between vigorous strength-building and clinical healing, emphasizing precise hands-on adjustments and the integration of Buddhist meditation into every flow.

Guided by the Hydra Yoga team, you will master the art of crafting therapeutic, customized sequences while developing a confident teaching voice. The curriculum goes beyond the mat with eight personalized coaching sessions and unique field trips to explore diverse spa modalities. Whether you are looking to deepen your personal practice or launch a professional career, this launchpad provides the alignment cues, spiritual principles, and storytelling skills necessary to inspire others on their healing journey.

This program is accredited by the Yoga Alliance.

  • Be sure to enroll with the Yoga Alliance here.
  • Completion of this program qualifies you to teach Power Yoga and Hot Yoga classes.
  • The certification allows access to our studio space hours for your own personal practice and branded workshops.
